Bran-ana Bread

One of my favorite things to do is bake! Cooking… not so much. I cook out of necessity but I prefer to bake!

Growing up my mom would make bread often. Especially, to go with our dinner during the winter. Homemade white bread with beef stew… Yum!

My dad loves homemade bread and always calls dibs on the heal. Which was fine by me! I don’t like the heal that much anyways. It’s too crunchy and dry for my liking.

Anyway…

Banana bread has always been one of my favorites! It’s usually my go to bread, if I ever need a warm and healthy baked good.

For years I have baked my mother’s amazing banana bread recipe. I’ll have to share that one later! It is sweet and really moist.

(Sorry to any of you who hate that word! But it’s the perfect word to describe bread.) πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

However, recently I came across this recipe for Branana bread.

And no, that is not a typo!

This recipe calls for bran.

Which is a great source of fiber! I actually found this recipe on the back of a Kellogg’s All Bran cereal box.

This banana bread recipe is dense and more filling thanks to the bran.

Branana Bread Recipe

Yields 1 Loaf

1 cup All Purpose Flour

1 Teaspoon Baking Powder

1/2 Teaspoon Baking Soda

1/4 Teaspoon Salt

1 cup Kellogg’s All Bran Original Cereal

1 cup Smashed Banana

2 Eggs

1 tsp. Vanilla

1/4 cup Butter, softened

1/2 cup Sugar

1/2 cup Walnuts

How to Make

Stir together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Set aside.

In a separate bowl, mix together bran cereal, bananas, eggs, vanilla. Let stand for about 5 minutes or until cereal softens.

In a large electric mixing bowl, beat together butter and sugar on medium speed until thoroughly combined.

Add flour alternatively, with cereal mixture. Mix well after each addition. Stir in walnuts.

Spread evenly in a bread loaf pan, coated with cooking spray.

*Note – These recipe only makes 1 loaf. I double my ingredients to make 2 loaves.

Bake at 350*F for 45 minutes or until toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Remove from pan and cool on wire rack. Serve warm or cold. Store in airtight container.

Hobby Holster

You are going to want one of these!

My Hobby Holster is very convenient! I have 2 of them because they are so great!

My first, hold my hot glue gun! It has a pocket for the extra sticks of glue. As well as a spot for my gun. If you use a glue gun frequently, I highly recommend getting one!

The second, holds my hair tools. For example, my straightener or curling iron. I can pocket them when I am between sections of hair. It keeps it off the counter and it protects me from getting burned.

If you aren’t quite sure how they work, it’s a silicone pocket. The flap sticks to your counters surface. Perfect for kitchen table crafts or morning routines in the bathroom.

These nifty holsters are on amazon and they cost $15. It also has a ruler on the flap, making it easy to take measurements before cutting. You can fill your holster with markers, scissors and other craft supplies.

Shower Cap

Does anyone really look good in a shower cap? πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

Just scroll past this image, quickly… πŸ˜‚

Like I mentioned in my Bathpack Halos post, I don’t wash my hair everyday… But since I workout daily, I do have to shower frequently!

Since my hair is so thick, it takes a long time to wash, blow dry and style. Who else shares my pain? πŸ™‹πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

I know the struggle, and it is real!

A great tip for you ladies with thick hair, is Bathpack’s hair clips. I use one to hold my hair in place, before putting on my shower cap. They are the only clip and I mean only… hair clip that holds all of my hair back at once!

I used to use a regular hair tie, which would leave crease my hair. Until I found Bathpack Halos, that is! Check out my previous post, and get yourself some Halos.

Anyways… back to my attractive shower cap you are all envious of. πŸ˜‰

On the days I don’t wash my hair, I use my handy shower cap.

TaDa! πŸ™ŒπŸ»

Shower Cap

I purchased it from amazon, of course… Which only cost me $7! Trust me, it is worth its weight in gold!

If you have thick hair like me, you will love this shower cap! 😍 The problem I have had with shower caps, was finding one larger enough to hold all of my hair. If you do to, purchase one of these!

This shower cap comes in multiple colors designs. Besides being large enough to hold all of my long hair back at once, it’s elastic band is tight. So it won’t slide off!

…and I mean tight!

So tip to the wise, don’t shower with it on, unless you have a good 15 minutes to spare. Allowing you a considerable amount of time, to allow the wrinkles in your forehead to relax after wearing it. πŸ›€

That’s a very important tip. So don’t forget it! Or else you will be walking around with quite the impression on your forehead… and no, I don’t know from experience… wink, wink!

You’re welcome!

Bathpack Halos

These are the BEST hair ties, I have ever used!

Which is saying something since I have extremely thick hair… and that isn’t an understatement. When my hair is pulled back, it is about 1-2 inches round… and that’s even after I’ve had it thinned!

So trust me when I say these halos are magic!

Now let me tell you why I like them…

These Halos DO NOT crease your hair!

Yes, you read that right…

Working out 5 times a week can be a real bummer, when it comes to your hair. I love working out! Exercising helps me physical and mentally. It’s my stress reliever!

The worst part about exercising every day, is how normal hair ties leave a crease in your hair. Which always seems unmanigable to get out unless you… Wash it!

Who has time to wash their hair everyday? I’d like to say I do but who am I kidding, I don’t wash my hair that often. πŸ˜‚

I dry shampoo my hair daily… does that count? I only actually wash it once or twice a week.

Girl, don’t judge… I know you do it too! This is a safe space, we can keep it real.

But don’t worry, I DO shower multiple times a week… When I do, I wear my handy dandy shower cap! I’ll make a post about that next.

So if you are a fitness enthusiast like me or you just pull your hair up throughout the day, you will appreciate these hair ties!

Bath Pack manufacture great products that are reasonably priced! They are $5 for a pack of 3.

But I gave them a chance and I am so glad I did!Girl, get yourself some halos. They are life changing!
