‘Tis the Season!

I absolutely love decorating!

Especially, for Christmas…

We typically put our Christmas decor out before thanksgiving.

I try to hold out as long as I can but I usually give in to my husbands requests.

This year, I decided to redecorate our front entryway.

If you are like me and enjoy being creative, I thought I would share my resources.

My favorite Christmas decoration this year, would have to be my jolly sign from Kirkland’s.

Tis the Season to Be Jolly!

Walmart helped my solidify my entryway vision. The galvanized silver reindeer are festive and affordable!

Every home needs a little bit of greenery. I really loved the coloring and features in this floral arrangement. From the holly berries, flocking, pine cones and wood wire ball. Plus, the reindeer needed something to nibble on.

Hobby Lobby has such great deals! I purchased this runner for $7. Perfect for all year but pairs lovely with Christmas decor.

Table Runner

I also love the entryway table I found at Hobby Lobby. Elegant, efficient, and a beautiful neutral color.

My adorable Christmas pillow was given to me years ago. However, I have been eyeing several decorative pillows from Kirkland’s this year. They have a great variety to choose from!

I hope this helps get your creative juices flowing.

Merry Christmas & Happy Decorating!

Chickpea Noodles

These noodles made from chickpeas are absolutely fantastic!

A serving includes 25 grams of protein, and 15 grams of fiber.

Dense and delicious pasta!

Amazingly satisfying and a healthy alternative to less nutritious noodles.

For those who are curious of any noticeable differences in taste, consistency, etc…

I’ll tell you this.

My husband could not tell a difference!

He can sometime be a picky eater but I was shocked how much he really loved them!

He was noticeably fuller and much more satisfied. He couldn’t eat quite as much, when compared to his usually serving.

The only difference I could tell was, they are much more dense. You can tell they are heavier than an original noodle. But that’s what makes them filling!

I found mine at Costco!

However, I have also seen them at Target, Amazon and Walmart.

An 8 oz box costs about $2.99.

I think when I purchased mine in bulk for Costco, it was about $9 for a large box. It comes with 5 packages inside!

I’ve heard Banza even makes a Macaroni and cheese. That’s the next on my list, to purchase.

So be spontaneous. Try something new for dinner and use Banza! Find a new recipe or make one of your usuals, either way it doesn’t matter!

Swap out your old noodle for any of the Banza noodles.

Bon Appétit!

Outshine Bars

Do you love popsicles?

I usually prefer ice cream over popsicles.

Until now…

Outshine bars are a game changer.

These are amazing! 😍

My favorite flavor is Pineapple.

It almost tastes exactly like the sweet pineapple we had in Hawaii… YUM!

Let me explain why I love outshine bars so much…

Coconut Bites

Have I found a delicious snack for you!

Do you love girl scout cookies?

You know the mouth watering Samoa cookies…

If so, you are going to LOVE these!

For those of you who don’t enjoy coconut, I am going to say this…

I am not a big fan of coconut.

I like coconut but I wouldn’t say I love it.

However, these are the exception!

Jennies Organic Coconut bites are amazingly delicious…

They are my go to treat now!

They are not super sweet but they also curb any sugar craving.

Made with all organic ingredients. Cranberries, goji berries, chia seeds, semi sweet chocolate and coconut.

Soft, yet chewy… each bite is individual wrapped.

Whale Tail Strainer

This is one of my most used appliances in my kitchen, utensil drawer!

For the last 6 years my husband and I had a giant plastic strainer. It was bulky, clunky and it took up a bunch of space. Especially in the sink!

After 6 years of being annoyed by this giant strainer, I decided to get something else.

A Whale Tail! Not to be confused with another type of whale tail… 🐋

😂 If you know, you know.

Anyways, Big Blue has been perfect for my kitchen! I found him on Amazon for a reasonable price of $12.99. I’ll post a link below!

Measuring Spoons & Cups

Have you been married for longer than 5 years? Are your measuring cups or spoons starting to fade, crack, bend or maybe even rust?

Are the measurement labels difficult to read or rubbing off?

Well today is your lucky day…

I have the solution!

This new set from amazon will replace all of your outdated and worn out measuring utensils with these stainless steel set.

Measuring Spoons

I love that these measuring spoons because they are magnetic! Not only do they stick together but also stack inside one another to save space.

I really appreciate the fact that they designed two different measuring spoons, one on each end.

The thinner, more rectangular end is perfect for reach inside small spice container openings. While the wider, rounder end is for measuring liquids.

The labels are a large and legible print. So far they have yet to rub off! 🤞🏻 Lets hope they don’t, now that I’ve said that.

Measuring Cups

The measuring cups are easy to clean and don’t show watermarks. Thank goodness!

The handles have a silicone cushion, that provides your hand with ample amounts of comfort when measuring.

If you are in need of an upgrade, I would highly suggest purchasing these online. Amazon has them in a bundle for $17.

Check them out below! 👇🏻

Measuring Spoons & Cups

Bonus… Both the spoons and the cups are dishwasher safe!

For those of you who know me well, know that I only purchase items if they dishwasher safe.

Lucky for me, these fit the bill!

Amazon should change their name to Amazin… because they are amazing! 🙌🏻

What don’t they have?!

Bran-ana Bread

One of my favorite things to do is bake! Cooking… not so much. I cook out of necessity but I prefer to bake!

Growing up my mom would make bread often. Especially, to go with our dinner during the winter. Homemade white bread with beef stew… Yum!

My dad loves homemade bread and always calls dibs on the heal. Which was fine by me! I don’t like the heal that much anyways. It’s too crunchy and dry for my liking.

Banana bread has always been one of my favorites! It’s usually my go to bread, if I ever need a warm and healthy baked good.

For years I have baked my mother’s amazing banana bread recipe. I’ll have to share that one later! It is sweet and really moist.

(Sorry to any of you who hate that word! But it’s the perfect word to describe bread.) 🤷🏻‍♀️

However, recently I came across this recipe for Branana bread.

And no, that is not a typo!

This recipe calls for bran.

Which is a great source of fiber! I actually found this recipe on the back of a Kellogg’s All Bran cereal box.

This banana bread recipe is dense and more filling thanks to the bran.

Branana Bread Recipe

Yields 1 Loaf

1 cup All Purpose Flour

1 Teaspoon Baking Powder

1/2 Teaspoon Baking Soda

1/4 Teaspoon Salt

1 cup Kellogg’s All Bran Original Cereal

1 cup Smashed Banana

2 Eggs

1 tsp. Vanilla

1/4 cup Butter, softened

1/2 cup Sugar

1/2 cup Walnuts

How to Make

Stir together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Set aside.

In a separate bowl, mix together bran cereal, bananas, eggs, vanilla. Let stand for about 5 minutes or until cereal softens.

In a large electric mixing bowl, beat together butter and sugar on medium speed until thoroughly combined.

Add flour alternatively, with cereal mixture. Mix well after each addition. Stir in walnuts.

Spread evenly in a bread loaf pan, coated with cooking spray.

*Note – These recipe only makes 1 loaf. I double my ingredients to make 2 loaves.

Bake at 350*F for 45 minutes or until toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Remove from pan and cool on wire rack. Serve warm or cold. Store in airtight container.

Thoughts by L

This is my new favorite recipe for banana bread. I hope you will try it! I know you will enjoy it as much as we do.

Once you’ve tried it, let me know what you think!

Stay warm out there. If you have to go out in the rain, at least your stomach will be warm!
