Hugs & Kisses

A sweet treat for a dear friend of mine. She and her family were recently mourning the loss of a loved one. Although they are in good spirits, I wanted to do something to let her know I care.

What You Need:

Hershey Kisses

Hershey Hugs

Cellophane Bag

Twist Tie

Small Gift (optional) – I bought a bath bomb

How to Make:

Collect all of your supplies first. To ensure you have everything you need, before you start.

I purchased my cellophane bags from hobby Lobby. The twist ties are included in the cost of the bags.

If you want to add a gift as well, be sure to pay attention to size! Making sure your gift will fit in your cellophane bag. You don’t want to have to make a second trip to the store for a bigger cellophane bag!

Bath bombs was the perfect size to fit in my bag. Other small gifts such as lotion, hand soap, lipstick, perfume, fuzzy socks would all be great gifts too.

Don’t forget to print and cut out your tags!

Using a hole punch, pierce a hole in the corner of the tag. Thread your twist tie through the hole.

Fill your bag with hershey hugs and kisses, before placing your small gift inside.

Using the twist tie, close the cellophane bag and tie it off.

Place your left over kisses in a small mason jar! Use the printable tag to cover the metal lid, before placing on the ring.

You now have an additional gift!

Thoughts by L:

We are here on the earth to help one another.

Why not lift someone’s spirits with some hugs and kisses!

Sparkle & Shine!

Happy 4th of July!

Well not just yet… I’m a few days early.

However, I was excited about this craft that I wanted to make sure you had enough time to make your own.

So you can give them to family members, friends or neighbors on the 4th of July.

This should only take your 5-10 minutes to create.

Let’s get started!

What You Need:

X-ACTO Knife

How To Make:

Choose one of the links above.

Once printed, cut out the tags.

Using an X-ACTO knife, cut two lines into the paper. One line above and another line, below the saying.

Next take your sparklers and weave them through the first slit at the top. Hiding the sparklers behind the letters.

Then slide the sparklers back through the second slit, so they appear on the front again.

Thoughts by L:

When I first started designing this handout, a scripture kept coming to me.

“Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.”

Matthew 5:16

Growing up I lived in a small town. I was sometimes viewed or labeled, “different” because of my values. When I was younger Matthew 5:16 was my favorite scripture!

People could tell there was something unusual about me and others of my faith. But they typically had a hard time deciphering “why” or “what” it was.

For those who are not a member of my faith… When members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, are baptized we promise to always have his spirit to be with us.

That light of Christ, is what sets us apart from others around us. As long as we are doing what is right, his spirit or light may remain with us. Which is what others notice. A little sparkle or glint of happiness. Even in hard times.

So for this month, I thought the sparklers would be a fun activity for little families to do with their small children.

Heck… I’m a grown adult and I still love a good sparklers!

But it was a special reminder for us, to let our light shine.

To use our light to bring others closer to God. That they too, might know Him!

So remember… be like a sparkler.

Shine Bright and Sparkle!

Stay COOL this Summer!

I have a great summer gift idea…

Who doesn’t love a cold popsicle, on a hot summer day? ☀️

Keep your friends or ministering sisters cool this summer.

What You Need:

Print: Just CHILL

How To Make:

Once you’ve got your popsicles, print the tag above.

Cut the paper into thirds like the image below.

Wrap each individual slip of paper around a handful of popsicles and tape.

Simple as that!

For a healthier option, purchase Otter Pops!

No artificial flavors or colors.

Thoughts by L:

Don’t over complicate things.

Gift giving can be as simple as a popsicle!

and remember…

Just CHILL this summer!

You Grow Girl!

April showers bring May flowers!

However, May has brought plenty of it’s own rain to Utah this year.

Are you getting rain?

Ministering for the month of May, I made these adorable handouts for my ministering sisters.

I was shopping recently at Joanns, when I happened upon these adorable mugs!

The saying was too cute to pass up. So I came up with this ministering gift idea.

What You Need:

Individual Growth – Russell M. Nelson

How to Make:

These mugs are sold out now unfortunately! However you could make your own mug using a silhouette machine and vinyl.

Or you can order this mug I found on Amazon!

You Grow Girl – Mug

If you don’t have a vinyl machine or don’t have the time to wait, use this tag I made.

You Grow Girl – Tag

I found a reasonable priced flower at my nearby Lowe’s, in their garden center. Each flower only cost me $2.50.

I transferred each flower directly into each mug. However, if you buy a smaller flower, you might need to add more potting soil to the mug.

Once your plant has been replanted, print the PDF tags and cut them out.

Using a toothpick and a piece of tag, attach the toothpick to the back of the tag.

Once your tag is complete, place the toothpick in the soil.

Thoughts by L:

I really loved this quote from President Russell M. Nelson.

“We are responsible for individual spiritual growth.”

Thinking a beautiful flower would make the perfect reminder of personal growth.

Like the flowers requires to be taken care of and nourished in order to grow, we have to make sure our spirits are properly maintained in order to flourish.

You Grow Girl!

Remember, you are the only one responsible for your personal growth.

Resurrection Rolls

This is a thought provoking and “sweet” Easter gift, for neighbors and friends.

What You Need:

Large Marshmallows

1 Crescent Rolls Can

Cellophane Bag

Twist Tie

Easter Grass

Clear Bread Bag

How to Make:

Put 8 large marshmallows inside your cellophane bag and use the twist tie to close. Place marshmallows inside the bread bag. Next add the can of crescent rolls. Print out the Resurrection Rolls handout, before placing it in the bag. Using another twist tie, close the bread bag.

Thoughts by L:

Easter is when we celebrate the Savior, Jesus Christ’s Resurrection from the tomb. “Death was conquered, man is free, Christ has won the victory!”

His resurrection is a great source of hope. Why not share that hope with those you love and admire! Enjoy this free Easter printable.

Bunny In a Jar

These were just too adorable to pass up!

If you are in need of Easter basket idea, a gift for a neighbor or coworker, or ministering gift, this is a simple idea.

What You Need:

Pint Mason Jar

Green Easter Grass

Chocolate Bunny

Chocolate Eggs or Jelly Beans

How to Make:

Before you start, check that your bunny will fit inside the size jar you purchase!

I bought all of my materials at the dollar store for $3, except for the jars. Which I purchased a case of 12, for $9 at Walmart. Try to find mason jars are clear glass and without a large label, so that you can actually see your bunny.

Make sure your mason jar is clean. Then add your easter grass in the bottom of the jar. Add your desired amount of chocolate eggs or jelly beans. Center your bunny inside the jar.

If you choose to, print the tag out. Trace the seal around the center of the tag, before cutting it out. Put the seal on the jar and place the tag on top. Then screw the lid on tight.

Thoughts by L:

I hope you enjoy this cute, yet simple creation! Hoppy Easter my friends!
