I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. In our church we encourage members to serve others in our ward, each month. We refer to it as “Ministering”. This is in similitude of the Saviors service while upon the earth.

Ministering reminds us to “love thy neighbor” and become selfless through service. Inspiring us to become more Christ-like.

I love service!

I have a strong testimony, of service.

When you feel weighed down, are struggling or going through a difficult time… I know that through service, your burdens will be made light! Does that mean they go away completely? No… but you will feel better knowing, you thought of someone else’s needs before your own.

You will find peace, hope and reassurance of God’s love for you, as you serve his other children.

Through selfless acts of service, you no longer obsess over your current situation. You focus your thoughts on someone else’s needs which in result, causes you to feel better about yourself or your current situation. Helping you develop a different outlook on life. Typically, you will get more out of the service you render, than those who receive it.

So whether you are a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Later Day Saints or not, I encourage you to find someway to serve someone! We are all going through this life together. We are all struggling with something. And we can all use a little cheering up.

Be the reason someone smiles today!
